Abba IS Love! [אהב]

1 John 4:7&8
7 “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.”

The Bible tells us that, “God is Love.”  The Holy Spirit, Who is always drawing wonderful pictures for us, graphically demonstrates this truth in the Hebrew spellings of “Father” and “Love.” He is so adamant that we understand this truth, He is not content to simply tell us:  HE UNEQUIVOCALLY SHOWS US!

Secrets In The Hebrew Language.

Hebrew reads from right to left and is a form of picture writing, like Chinese. The word pictures God uses to spell words give us a glimpse from His perspective.  What we’ll see in these word pictures are something that you’d never get from any definition.

The Hebrew word for father, “Abba,” is spelled like this:

Abba: [אב] Aleph, Bet.

Aleph [א] is a picture of an ox. It also signifies sacrifice as well as leader.

Bet, or Beth [ב] is a picture of house.

The word Abba is a picture of Jesus as the aleph [א] head or leader of the [ב]bet-house.

Abba Gave Us His Heart!
Now look what happens when you put the letter “hei [ה]” in the middle of the word.  You get this word: Ahav [אהב] which is the verb, “LOVE.”  Love is an action word!

Hei [ה] is the fifth letter of the Hebrew alphabet.  It is a picture of an open window.  What does God pour out of the windows of Heaven according to Malachi 3:10?  Blessings, of course!  That’s why we say, “FIVE,” is the number of “GRACE!”  Grace, however, is not a doctrine:  It is a Person:  Our Lord Jesus.  He is the greatest BLESSING the Father has ever given us!

You can clearly see from the spelling of this word that when He died on the cross, He literally ripped out His heart!   How’s is that for a visual! 💖🙌🏻

Without the Father AND The Son there is no “Love.”  So you see, Abba really IS LOVE! 💖
