Numbers 19: 9-12“Then a man who is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and store them outside the camp in a clean place; and they shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for the WATER OF PURIFICATION; it is for PURIFYING FROM SIN. And the one who gathers the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes, and be UNCLEAN UNTIL EVENING. It shall be a statute forever to the children of Israel and to the stranger who dwells among them.
“He who touches the dead body of anyone shall be UNCLEAN SEVEN DAYS. He shall purify himself with the water ON THE THRID DAYand on the SEVENTH DAY; then he will be clean. But if he does not purify himself ON THE THIRD DAY and on THE SEVENTH DAY, he will not be clean.”

King Solomon must have been wondering, ”What is all this washing, unclean until evening, washing on the third day then on the seventh day; and if you don’t wash on the third day, you’re unclean on the seventh.”
The rest of the passage goes on to say in verses 13-16, “Whoever touches the body of anyone who has died, and does not purify himself, defiles the tabernacle of the Lord. That person shall be cut off from Israel. He shall be unclean, because the WATER OF PURIFICATION WAS NOT SPRINKLED on him; his uncleanness is still on him.”“This is the law when a man dies in a tent: All who come into the tent and all who are in the tent shall be UNCLEAN SEVEN DAYS; and every open vessel, which has no cover fastened on it, is unclean. Whoever in the open field touches one who is slain by a sword or who has died, or a bone of a man, or a grave, shall be UNCLEAN SEVEN DAYS.”

What in the world are they talking about? 😳

Jesus Is The Key.
By now you have a really good idea as to why King Solomon was so perplexed about this ordinance and I’m sure this portion of it only added to it. Remember these are only shadow representations of the substance, ”Jesus,” Who was to come centuries in the future. So let’s break all it down using our wonderful key: Jesus! ♥️

These two phrases: “ON THE THIRD DAY” and “ON THE SEVENTHDAY” appear in many places in scripture which we hinted at in part 5. What do they mean? Simply this: Jesus rose from the dead ON THE THIRD DAY. Anyone who puts their trust in Him as their Savior and Lord is born again and will be ready when He returns ON THE SEVENTH DAY, i.e. His second coming. He will set up His visible kingdom and rule the world from Jerusalem for a thousand years.

These two phrases: “ON THE THIRD DAY” and “ON THE SEVENTH DAY” appear in many places in scripture which we also hinted at in part 5. What do they mean? They refer to the fact that Jesus rose from the dead ON THE THIRD DAY. Anyone who puts their trust in Him as their Savior and Lord and is now born again and will be ready when He returns ON THE SEVENTH DAY, i.e. His second coming. He will set up His visible kingdom and rule the world from Jerusalem for a thousand years.
Anyone who has not accepted Christ as their Savior will be unclean, meaning they will face an eternity cut off from God, when Jesus returns to earth.

Before Jesus returns to earth, thankfully, He will have raptured those who have washed themselves on the 3rd day. After we are gone, many others will come to faith in Christ during the seven year period of tribulation. Life will be very hard for them, but they also will be ready on the 7th day when Jesus returns…..with us in tow!
