Genesis 45:9-11
“Hurry and go up to my father, and say to him, ‘Thus says your son Joseph: “God has made me lord of all Egypt; come down to me, do not tarry. 10 You shall dwell in the land of Goshen, and you shall be near to me, you and your children, your children’s children, your flocks and your herds, and all that you have. 11 There I will provide for you, lest you and your household, and all that you have, come to poverty; for there are still five years of famine.”’

One of the most wonderful things that the story of Joseph demonstrates is just how much our Heavenly Father loves and cares for us! He goes ahead into our future and prepares the way for us to preserve, protect, and provide.
That’s what He did for Jacob and his family. He used the evil that was done to Joseph by his own brothers. It allowed him to go ahead of them into Egypt in order to preserve and provide for them in the midst of the very, VERY severe famine that would descend on their world.

Recap.
Here’s what we discussed in parts 1-3: When Joseph was a young boy, his “sending ahead,” probably didn’t seem like it was from God. He had been hated by his brothers who threw him into a pit sold him into slavery in Egypt. Then they lied to his father telling him Joseph was killed by an animal. What a cruel thing to do to your own father. 😞 God, however, used these evil things to bring about great blessing and provision for the very people who rejected him.
We also learned that when the famine hit, his brothers were sent by their father to Egypt to buy grain where there was an abundant supply. They met Joseph on that first trip but they didn’t recognize him in all his royal garb and traditional Egyptian makeup, just as Israel did not recognize her Messiah at His first coming.

Joseph Reveals Himself To His Brothers.
In the passage just prior to the opening scripture, Joseph had just revealed himself to his brothers and was tearfully, joyfully reunited with them. He had a plan to take care of their every need. They would lack for nothing.
When Jesus returns to earth, all of Natural Israel will recognize Jesus as their Messiah, the One they rejected all those years ago. He will provide for them as He did in Goshen of old and the entire nation will be saved in one day!

Why We Serve And Worship.

1 Thessalonians 4:15-18 15
“For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. AND THUS WE SHALL ALWAYS BE WITH THE LORD. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.”
