Secrets In The Hebrew Language.
All names of people, places, and things in Hebrew have amazing meanings that lead to deeper understanding of any passage you are studying. For example, “Socho,” is the Hebrew word for, “Thorns; ” Azekah, means, “Strength of walls.” Kinda sounds like they were caught between a rock and a hard place, doesn’t it? That they were!

Notice that you are drawn “DOWN“ into the valley of fear from where you were, which is seated in heavenly places next to Jesus. How are you drawn down there? By giving heed to the taunts and lies of the enemy–your Goliaths. Remain at rest, seated next to Jesus, and you’ll find you cannot not be drawn down into the valley of fear.”

Typologies.
Goliath is a typology of satan–our accuser. We learned in part 2 that he CANNOT cross the boundary of the blood (of Jesus). His name in Hebrew is also very telling: It means “Stripped, exile.”
This guy loved bronze! He was wearing a helmet made of bronze, his spear was bronze, his Breastplate and all his armor were made of bronze. Even his footwear was bronze. Why? Because he is a picture of the accusers of the brethren, like judge and jury. Bronze in the Bible depicts “Judgment.” Well, he was one big picture of judgment from head to toe!

Shadow And Substance.
At the end of the chapter, you’ll notice it says that he carried Goliath’s head all the way to Jerusalem. It was buried outside the city walls in a place which, much later, came to be known as, “The place of the skull.” The place where this giant skull was buried outside of the gates of Jerusalem and came to be known as “Gol Goliath.” Gol means, “Heap or pile.” Later on, it was shortened to “Golgotha,” what we know as “The place of the skull.
Some 4,000 years later Jesus, the GREATER David, our giant killer, The Savior of the entire world, would die on a cross, thoroughly routing the greatest of all enemies; the serpent.

His cross would be erected directly over the place where Goliath’s head was buried. Our Jesus, THE GREATER DAVID {BELOVED}, CRUSHED ONCE AND FOR ALL the head of the greater Goliath, i.e., the devil’s head, on that hill long ago known as:
