Genesis 15:4-6
4 “Then the word of the Lord came to him: “This man [Ishmael] will not be your heir, but a son who is your own flesh and blood will be your heir.” 5 He [Jesus] took him [Abram] outside and said, “Look up at the sky and… count the stars—if indeed you can count them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring [or seed] be.” 6 Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.”
Before we move to the most significant constellation in the heavens, Ursa Minor, we’re going to take a little side trip and study a star that is the most important star in the sky. It is so prestigious, in fact, that it became the center of the heavens!

The Gospel Of Ancient Times.
In ancient times as you know, if you have been following this series, they didn’t have the written word of God like we do today. The Gospel was passed down from father to son, but it was not simply oral tradition. They told the story of redemption by recounting the story written in the night sky.
This has absolutely nothing to do with astrology, as I’ve stated before. It was the devil who took what God wrote in the stars about His Son and perverted it into the fables and myths that make up the many and varied tales of mythology.

The North Star.
Wikipedia says of the pole or north star: “Because of it’s importance in celestial navigation, every culture used it as a guide. That’s why “Polaris” is known by numerous names.
One of those ancient names was “Cynosūra,” from the Greek κυνόσουρα, which actually means, “The dog’s tail.” It reflects a time when the constellation of Ursa Minor “Little Bear” was thought to represent a dog. Most other names by which it was called are directly tied to its role as pole star.”

–
In ancient times, Ursa Minor was not depicted as a dog but rather as “The lesser sheepfold,” shown above.
See what I mean? The perverter–the serpent–strikes again. It’s depiction as The Lesser sheepfold is much more in line with the gospel story than the “little bear.” 🙄

Today, “polaris lies in a nearly direct line with the axis of the Earth’s rotation above the North Pole—the north celestial pole that is. It stands almost motionless in the sky and all the stars of the Northern sky appear to rotate around it. Therefore, it makes an excellent fixed point from which to draw measurements for celestial navigation and for astrometry.”

The Heavens Declare!
When David wrote, “night unto night sheweth knowledge” (Psalm 19:2), he must have been referring to meanings of the star names. Though most people today are not aware of those ancient names, David and his contemporaries most assuredly were. In his native language of Hebrew, the names of the stars were quite commonly used in many messianic prophecies. They not only used knew their names, they knew their meaning and to what, or rather “Who,” they were describing.

A Shift In The Heavens.
The north star is located in the constellation, ”Ursa Minor,” also known as the little dipper. The Greeks called it, ”Cynosūra,” but we know it as Polaris. However…..it wasn’t always the North star, or “The guiding star,” as it is sometimes called. In ancient times, it may surprise you to learn that another star in an altogether different constellation held that position.
In ancient times, not surprisingly, it was the Dragon Star, “Alpha Draconis,” in the constellation of Draco, on which people relied for navigation. The Arabic name for it is “Thuban,” which actually means “Snake.” Very telling, since from the garden to the cross, the great dragon, satan, had authority over the earth having been given it by Adam.
The above picture shows the shift from Thuban to Cynosūre. Ursa Minor was called “Kochab,” so named for it’s second brightest star in the upper right section of that constellation. Kochab means “Him Who cometh,” in Hebrew. Others called it “Cynosūra” to refer to the entire constellation. The word literally means “The Center, or The Center of the Constellations.”
–
Due to the slow progressions of the heavens, this star, which is part of the constellation of Ursa Minor or “The Lesser Flock,” has now become the North star. It is a heavenly Sign that represents the Kingdom of Our Lord, Jesus, owing to the fact that He purchased back from our great enemy that which was forfeited by Adam.
Isn’t that cool? God orchestrated the movement of the stars in the heavens so that the center of them has been removed out of a constellation symbolizing satan, who once held the keys, into this one symbolizing JESUS’ EVERLASTING KINGDOM! HALLELUJAH!!!
This is of phenomenal import because these stars were named thousands of years ago. How could these primitive people have known that the positions of the stars would change? The answer is, in their natural wisdom, THEY COULD NOT HAVE KNOWN. The only possible explanation is that GOD REVEALED IT TO THEM.

Jesus Is The Center.
The dragon star is no longer the center star around which all others revolve! There has been a change in the powers in the heavens!!! The kingdom of this world is now become THE KINGDOM OF OUR GOD AND OF HIS CHRIST!!! HALLELUJAH!!!
–
It’s so true! The Heavens themselves really DO declare the glory of the Lord! They are testament to the fact that ALL POWER has been wrested away from satan. The keys of heaven and hell now belong to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!!!
Jesus says in Revelation 1:8 “I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. AND I HAVE THE KEYS OF HADES AND OF DEATH.”
–
From the beginning of time to the present day God us still speaking to us through the stars, though we no longer rely on them to tell the gospel story. God is the One Who created and placed them in the heavens and orchestrates their movement. He’s the One Who placed them there “for signs and for seasons.” Genesis 1:14.
–
–
But we know the truth, don’t we Church. It isn’t the stars that rule our lives: The Bright and Morning Star, JESUS, does. AMEN. They demonstrate definitively that everything, everything, EVERYTHING…..revolves around Him. He really IS the NORTH STAR.
