God Is Not The Author Of Disease

Under the Old Covenant, as if all those diseases, lack and death passing to us that wasn’t bad enough, God used to “Visit your sins” upon future generations.  That’s right:  The penalty of your sins also fell upon your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who had no part whatsoever in your sin! 😭

What a horrible thought to think that something I did would harm my own precious little ones.  As a grandmother myself, I cringe at the thought!

But Jesus came, died on that cross and REVERSED EVERY CURSE!!!  Aren’t you glad?  No longer does He “Visit” our sins.  In fact, He remembers our sins, iniquities and lawless deeds NO MORE, according to Hebrews 8.  That also means NO MORE GENERATIONAL CURSE!!!  So, no: Don’t think for an instant that God brought all this nonsense of sickness and death to earth.  He’s been given a bad rap.  It was man’s doing.  This is still a fallen earth (and will remain so until Jesus returns) because of Adam’s sin.

When He created man He was to “Labor and do all his work for 6 “days.”  Remember, a “Day” to God is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day.  God, from that point on, was no longer in control of the earth. WHAT?  Yep; it’s true.  This topic is discussed in more detail in the article below.

Unbelievers Have No Protection.

The unsaved, sad to say, are even worse off.  They have ZERO protection.  He can pick their number out of the hat any time he wants and torment them at his whim.   Believer, you need to understand and use your authority and right standing in Christ as a weapon whenever he tries to attack you.  Believe me, Church, you don’t want to be subject to the curses of Deuteronomy 28.

Christians who find themselves in such a predicament are not much better off than the unsaved, except, of course, that when they die they will be with Jesus.  That’s the devil’s plan you know:  To get rid of you sooner so you’ll no longer be of any earthly good.  You see, he cannot do anything about the fact that you’re going to heaven.  But he’ll bend over backwards to try and get you there quicker.

Everyone Healed!

When Jesus walked this earth, He healed ALL–not some, not a select few–ALL who were sick or oppressed of the devil who fell at His feet, everywhere He went.  There is no record that He ever gave anyone a disease to teach them a lesson.  That is fallen man’s COMPLETELY FALSE IDEA concocted by people who don’t know God’s heart.  They see Him as judgmental and vindictive; as someone Who allows disease to teach us.  IT IS A LIE STRAIGHT OUT OF THE PIT OF HELL…..and the old liar LOVES IT…..And anyone who teaches such things is doing his work for him. 😡

In the passage above, we have another of those “Translator issues.”  The word some scholars have translated as, “GRIEFS,” is the word, “Choli” in Hebrew.  This is an unfortunate rendering of the word.  A more accurate translation would be “Sicknesses.”  Likewise the word, “SORROWS,” in Hebrew, is “Macov,” more accurately translated as “Pains.”  This is always in reference to physical, emotional or mental pains.  It NEVER refers to spiritual healing.

Even more incredible is the Hebrew of the text where Isaiah talks about the “Stripes” that fell upon Jesus.  The word in Hebrew for “Stripes” is not plural; it is singular.  Full understanding of that topic will lead you to a whole different level of appreciation for what Jesus did on that cross for all of us.  Please refer to the link below if you want to know the whole story, but I warn you:  It is not for the faint of heart, and I’m not kidding.  Make sure you have a box of tissues handy, too:

The scholars responsible for translating this passage obviously didn’t believe that healing is for today.  They made it sound as if healing is only spiritual.  Why?  Because physical healing carries with it the “Risk” that, if you teach it and people are not healed, people will believe you are preaching falsehood.  But when you gauge the word of God by your understanding and experience, you are limiting God.  You are using your finite mind to define that which is infinite, thereby deifying your head!

Does the Bible talk about heaven?  Yes.  Then how do we know there is one if we haven’t been there and “Experienced it?”  Does the Bible talk about the rapture?  yes.  How can we prove there’s going to be one if we haven’t experienced it?  JUDGE YOURSELF BY GOD’S WORD, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

The word for peace, “Shalom,” means much more than simply peace but also completeness, wholeness, health, {physical, mental, emotional} peace, welfare, safety, soundness {physical, mental, emotional} tranquility, prosperity {including financial} perfectness, fullness, rest, harmony, the absence of agitation or discord.  It comes from the root verb “shalom” meaning to be complete, perfect and full. In modern Hebrew the obviously related word Shelem means to pay for, and Shulam means to be FULLY PAID.  Jesus most definitely FULLY PAID for our complete Shalom.

So don’t tell me that My God, Who gave up His Beloved Son to suffer unimaginable torture for our redemption and complete Shalom, not only from our sins, but OBVIOUSLY, from all sicknesses and diseases, makes people sick to teach them a lesson.  ALL HIS JUST JUDGMENT AND RIGHTEOUS INDIGNATION was exhausted in the body of His beloved Son that day so, NO, sicknesses are also NOT judgments from God for our sins.

That does not mean there will be no human consequences, but there is no more judgment from God.  Psalm 23 states that “Yea, though ‘I’ walk…” through the valley of the shadow,” meaning when “I” get myself in trouble, God will still be merciful.  He will redeem you from trouble, even if it’s of your own making.

He SO LOVED US!  In fact, far from being the Autor of disease, He has FULLY PROVIDED FOR OUR HEALING!  So, NO: God is NOT The Author of disease.
