Hurry up!

Hurry Up!

2 Corinthians 6:1-3:  “Behold, NOW is the accepted time; behold, NOW is the day of salvation.”

(Zacchaeus climbs up to see Jesus.)

God is always encouraging us to rest in Him and to relax; to not worry or be stressed.  Other than the opening verse, there is only one instance in all of scripture where Jesus tells us to hurry up.  It’s here in the story of Zacchaeus and the reason why is found within the passage below:

Luke 19: 2-6  “And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich. And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature. And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way. And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house. And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.

Make Haste!

You’ll notice that the phrase, “Make haste,” and words to that effect, are mentioned twice. This is no accident! The Holy Spirit meant to drive home a point that to make sure that we not take for granted that we have “all the time in the world” to get right with God.  The only way to that and spend eternity with Him is through Jesus; by saying “Yes” to His awesome gift.

Church, the world has been given a very lo-o-o-o-ng period of Grace to hear the good news of the Gospel and ask Jesus into their hearts to be their Savior. But all too soon, that door will be closed when He calls for all believers to come out of this world and be with Him forever in the rapture.

As you know, no one except God the Father knows exactly when it will be. The door to salvation will then be closed to those who are left behind. Based on what is happening in the world right now, it doesn’t appear to be all that far away. The point is, we aren’t told exactly when it will happen. We will only know the season.

Now, I don’t know about you but, if I were the one reading this right now and I wasn’t a born again believer, I wouldn’t want to take a chance and be left behind.  Why? Because the Bible says it will be the worst of times EVER to hit planet earth. 😳 If you think it’s bad now, wait; you ain’t seen nothing yet!!

Don’t Wait!

So…..If you have already accepted God’s incomparable gift of His Son, Jesus, as your Savior then, for you, there is no need to hurry. You can rest and be at peace.

But…..if you have not………..HURRY UP! ♥️
